The Disease Control Directorate (DCD) was
established in 1993. Before that date, it consisted of the Communicable
Disease Surveillance Division as part of the Primary Health Care
Directorate.
Currently, DCD includes the following
divisions:

The main role of DCD is the prevention
and control of communicable and non communicable diseases in Jordan, through
strategic planning to achieve its goals.
